How much should a new grad expect in comp from Dropbox? Looking at entry level SWE or Data Science/Engineering if possible.
🌲fiddy
Could you break down how? 130k base I assume from looking online
it should be comparable to FAANG:/ this is the smallest portion of money you’re going to make in your career anyway :) i’ll care more about the growth.
$130k base $160k RSUs over 4 years $55k signing bonus
😳
To provide context, the original signing bonus was $35k. I had a competing offer at a proprietary trading firm in NYC with $150k base $100k expected bonus $50k signing bonus The Dropbox offer is by no means competitive with this, but they did what they could to bump it up a bit.

“Expect” 🙄 Get an offer first, grasshopper
Definitely did not mean “expect” as if I expected to be compensated without working for it. Like others I spend a ton of time learning and improving my actual development skills and interviewing skills as almost the core of my nights (partially because I enjoy it). For sure didn’t need some bullshit answer like this for me asking a compensation question for a company I am applying too.
Keep the stereotype alive!
