Dropbox signing bonus

I recently got an offer for IC2 at dropbox. I had a phonecall with a recruiter who gave me standard ranges for salary/stock/bonuses etc but he didnt mention anything about signing bonus. Does anyone know what to expect for this?

do u know how they calculate stock price? In Amazon when we are granted, I think we use some kind of calculation based on one or two months stock market price to get the price to use. While for DbX, do you have any insight? Since next week quarter financial result is going to change the price possibly by big percentage

@ftw835 That's a standard offer. I got the same one in the beginning and negotiated up to 165K base and 250 stock, w 10% year bonus. There is no signing bonus for IC2s in Dropbox. The equation for the year bonus is complex and is based on your performance, the company's overall performance and how close/far are you within your pay band ( if you get more than other ICs in your level then you get slightly less in your year bonus but it's roughly 10%

I had more offers from big companies (and some startups), but it doesn't matter. Just tell them that you get +10K from another company but that you really like Dropbox more and that you will join if they match.

I asked for 180 and got 165. Ask for more. It depends how confident you are with recruiters, like... If you fake it too much and don't have confidence they might tell. Just do the communication via email . Worst case scenario they keep the offer as is. They won't take it back. Also know that it is really hard to negotiate more.money once you are in (unless you get a promotion)
