Dual monitor vs Ultrawide for development

Do you guys at Amazon use dual 27" monitors or a single 34" ultrawide?

Assuming that most of my development will be done on an ec2 instance, would the 34" allow for maximum VNC real estate?

    Use 2 27" portrait mode.

Max lines of code visible without scrolling.

      Start two vnc sessions.

      Open one for each monitor.
Use synergy or something like that for mouse and keyboard from one session to the other.

Point is u can hack a few things together to make it work

That's clever. I'll try it out tomorrow.

In any case, I will soon have the choice of dual 27" or a single 34" ultrawide but don't have any experience with ultrawide monitors.

I just chose ultra wide. And miss my dual portrait setup.

just pick 34 and get extra 27s laying around, we have at least 3 in our area that nobody is using

      Really?
In some context it’s actually worse. And in those same contexts bigger would be better πŸ˜‰
