It's very funny that Cruise's marketing person decided to post their max capacity of good reviews on Glassdoor to offset the horrible reviews! Lol. Cruise's attrition rate went from 10% to a whopping 20% in less than 2 months. What's going on there? Why can't the actual employees just be left to write real reviews?
God did Kyle Vogt run Twitch the same way?
Nope! I personally don't think Kyle is the problem.
Are you still with Cruise?
Why folks are fleeing Cruise? I used to think they are in great progress after Waymo. I see Google Cloud AI Director just joined there as head of AI/ML (perhaps Director/Sr Director role).
Yes, but let's wait where his head is at in 6 months.
I know a guy who works there. Basically, self-driving cars aren’t going to be a thing anytime soon. It’s just too hard of a problem to expect real self driving within the next decade, barring a miraculous breakthrough. While that’s not a problem for Waymo/Google, self-driving car startups are burning $$$ way too fast & are about to be in some serious shit.
Does this have to do with the tech or regulation?
Both but mostly tech. Current AI isn’t good enough to handle the weird, uncommon scenarios that come up when millions of people are driving every day. 99.9% accuracy is not good enough when people’s lives are on the line. Tesla might have driver assist, but it’s gonna be awhile before you can safely take a nap in the back.
They are fleeing for various reasons but it all comes down to management.
Did this start to happen when they appointed the GM guy as their CEO?
Culture Clash was inevitable.
Blind could add a review feature to their app!!!

Hey Blind 👋 , hire this poor college kid please!!! 🙏😩🤣🤣🤣
I don't know what's going on, but all the bad reviews just sounds like growing pains to me. The place I work at now has similar issues as we try to grow out of thinking we are still a starup. It's a slow process to show management the light. I would rather work at cruise even with the negatives reviews as the work would be much more interesting. Though they passed on me because "I'm not senior enough", aka couldn't solve leetcode fast enough. I know going in though to not to expect some well oiled machine with process all figured out. I'm ok with that overall, but I can see how that would be frustrating for people.
How do they compare to Waymo, zoox, Tesla, Uber etc?
So you trust Glassdoor review? Just use blind’s search
I used Blind search to find your post which tells me nothing. Is OP correct that Cruise is a dumpster fire?
