I just completed my masters and USCIS received my case for EAD on 19th March and till now my case still shows received. I have a start date in early July. When can I expect my EAD? Anyone knows the average processing time of 2019 at potomac center?

Also the dilemma is I'm about to change the apartment by this month's end and I have given address of this apartment, so not sure how to deal with this, Can I expect my EAD to come till June's end?

Any tips on how to expedite this process? Shall I try calling USCIS?

It takes atleast 90 days. I should be almost at the stage of approval and maybe its not a good idea to update the address now to avoid delays. You can always forward your usps mail to the new address.

USPS will *generally* not forward USCIS mail.

You mean update address directly on USCIS portal?
Also how much time did it take after you changed the address? Like overall time?

My apologies, I meant I knew my lease would be over before my anticipated date to receive my EAD, so I had used my University's address.

Would it be possible for you to extend your lease by a month or so ? Some apartment communities let you do that.

If USPS doesn't forward, they can still hold mail at the local post office. You can collect your mail with a valid ID later.

Got it, Nope I don't think I can extend my lease. So that option is ruled out. But they're asking me my forwarding address which I'm not sure that they'll even forward the letters.

Lol😂 @ calling USCIS to expedite the process.

I think there is way to request change of address. Ask your lawyer.

I heard some people called USCIS and they told about their start dates and in a week or 2 their EAD got approved, not sure if that's true.

I'm a student, I don't have a lawyer. Also international student services at my University told me not to change address as USCIS would delay the process if I do so.

You can check wait times on their website. It is approx 3-6 months.

I was in a similar position. I just got my EAD approved after 100 days. University couldn't help much nor had any information regarding the process. I don't think you can expedite unless it's a special reason. Having a job offer is not one of them. And the wait time after which you can check ( file a status update request. Not the same as expedite)with USCIS is 5 months for Potomac as mentioned on the USCIS site. Did you check with your housing management if they can hold your mail? My university advised the same as to not change your mailing address with USCIS as it delays it further. Also check with your company immigration team/hr about postponing your start date and how to proceed best.
Also did you talk to the dso at your university?
