Eng pay in Minneapolis/St Paul?

Seems like a tough market for hiring managers. What's the range in a market like this for someone with a few years experience?

Check LinkedIn Salary feature. Gives Salary by position / Title by industry + function + location + # yrs exp. + company

why is it a tough market? pay here should be about $100k for a couple years experience. amazon here pays really well

Should've been specific - friends at a few smaller shops/startups often complain about hiring. They say it's tough to find engineers and devops and sre folks around here. Probably because the big dogs and the fortune 50s in town have more cash/leverage.

Amazon is the only company that pays well in the Minneapolis area for engineers. I'm a new grad from the area and I interviewed at a bunch of the Fortune 500 companies around the metro area and none of them came close to what Amazon offered. My amazon offer was close to 2x what some of the companies were offering.

My experience is there is a huge spread in salary in TC market. I've talk with companies that start at $40k and seem as though they cap out at around $100k. There are several companies that pay well though. Veritas pays well for the market IMHO. new grads are mid 80s currently. With 3-4 years experience I'd expect around $100k. And the work/life balance is far better than any company I've ever worked for. Medtronic, 3M, and some of the defense contractors pay well too.
