How common is $300K+ OTE in enterprise sales? Is it really for senior level folks at the Director and VP level or are these numbers commonplace at the AE level as well?
At the bigger companies (Oracle, sfdc, aws, msft) on enterprise or large company segment commercial teams this can be fairly common depending on the territory/named Companies in your patch- that being said this is ote not gauranteed in any way. Still have to actually make the sale(s). And not everyone with an Enterprise sales title is actually the head AE on an account - many orgs are matrixed so there are many Junior sales people that work on an Enterprise account and only one real enterprise AE that has the named account/responsibility for the entire customer's #.
This is a great answer. To put a fine point here: there may be up to 10-12 junior reps on an account and only one Major Account Exec. The MAE makes 300+. Nobody else does unless they blow out their number. I am an MAE that also has run multiple commercial, marketing, and sales orgs.
It depends on the company, deal size, and your experience level. I've seen $250k as an average for SaaS startups with some companies willing to go higher for the right people. At larger companies with large deal sizes, $300k+ isn't uncommon
What are the typical quotas for these comp levels at MSFT, GOOG, AWS?
Iβm at GE. Target is 25M but sometimes they are lower like 13-17M
This will never be a typical answer. It will depend on accounts, industry, and position in the market and how the company wants to win business. For example and Azure seller will most likely have a higher quota for a similar sized territory than say a Dynamics seller.
Not common. Most common range is 200 to 240 across silicon Valley. But many companies offering 250 to 300 range for senior level/ more experience. With 400k+ attainable for the right personal and comp plans.
