Entry Level Golang - Backend Jobs in Bay Area

Not looking for a referral at the moment, just trying to get an idea of which companies in the SF Bay Area hire Jr level Golang Engineers for backend positions. A little background about myself - I have no formal education or training in CS, but Ive taught myself Python, SQL, Go (including concurrent operations) and distributed system design concepts over the last 18 months, in addition to other CS concepts. I’ve built a few web apps in Go, including an app that fetches the JSON metadata for every xkcd.com comic and stores the data as protobufs in a searchable, offline k/v store. Another one is a product inventory CRUD app using MVC architecture. I feel like I need a bit more leetcode practice before I begin interviewing, but plan to start applying in the near future. Do you guys have any suggestions for me? TL;DR version - I’m an aspiring Golang developer with no formal training/education in CS and I’m looking for suggestions as to which companies in the Bay Area I should start applying to for my first software engineering job.

Why optimize for a particular language. If you’re smart you’ll learn whatever the language is on the job.

It depends on the company. Big companies will invest in you and give you time to get ramped up on their stack. Startups might get frustrated after a couple days and give you the boot saying you’re not hands on enough or something. If op already knows golang, it’s best for him to find a job where he can use those skills and hit the ground running.

Yeah but conversely taking on challenges outside your comfort zone and rising to them is a recipe for much faster personal growth rather than sticking to what you’re comfortable with. If you’re in the bay you shouldn’t be worried about getting fired theres a ton of jobs.
