Seattle SDE I. 1 yoe. 135k base 30 RSU’s (2k a share right now) 20k signing bonus Pretty satisfied with the base. No competing but I have an Uber onsite next Tuesday. Could I get higher bonus or RSU?
20k for the first two years? Your base is high but RSUs and sign on are low I got 123k base, 50 RSU and 70k signon, 40k the first year and 30k the second.
Seconded, usually signing bonus is around 20-25 for each of the first two years. This was true as of 2 years ago, not sure how new 25% vesting schedule changes it though.
There's a new vesting schedule??? I got the same ol 5, 15, 40, 40 just last month so that's interesting 🤔
Vesting schedule seems the same, heavily weighted towards years 3 and 4.
Then I feel like you are getting screwed year 2, usually a cash bonus is there to make up for lower RSU vesting years 1 and 2.
One of my buddies got 60k signing bonus (30k 1st year + rest 2nd year). Try to Max that out.
Looking again, I feel like you didn't get many RSUs either. I was offered 97 2 years ago at ~770 at the time, so around 75000 over 4 years. 60k over 4 years sounds really low.
Factoring in your base, I think it's relatively fair, depends on your bias for cash or RSUs. Decent offer for 1 yoe at >150k TC year one, try to negotiate signing for year 2 imo.
I got 125k base 35k/25k signing and 100k rsu. Same yoe

You can try negotiating with an Uber offer. I heard Uber doesn't give great SDE1 offers but that might vary from New grad and industry hires.
Is it possible to use an upcoming Uber onsite to negotiate?
You can try, phrase it as: if you're willing to give me {comp}, I will stop all my ongoing interviews with companies X, Y, Z. Read haseeb's negotiating post. However, I think having an offer is stronger.
