Evaluate Apple SWE Salary
Just got off the call with Apple(Sunnyvale). SWE with 13 years of experience (backend). Can you please help me decide on these numbers: Base: 160K RSUs: 160 vested over 4 years Sign On: 20K
Idk apple paybands but seems extremely low for 13yoe
My classmate with 4 yoe got a similar offer as this.
Redonk that probably the reason he got it was because he did good on the whiteboard leetcode while this guy did average. His 13yoe means nada
So, the team I interviewed didn't really go for any leetcode style questions, the questions asked were generally around that groups domain

Never heard good things about IS&T. Its mainly IT and internal apps that Apple employees use.
So what should the expected comp be then, I tried levels.fyi but the numbers are so different. Currently, this is the only offer I have and I want to atleast provide the recruiter a reasonable number
So your total comp is at 220k in Sunnyvale. Please decline. With 13 years your total should be at least 300k. That's minimum.
13 yoe or 1.3 yoe. The offer looks reasonable for 1.3 yoe
Yeah, my understanding is 2 yoe would get you $150k base at FAANG. Is that not accurate?
13 yoe at Google is different from 13 yoe at non tech companies, people.
So, people coming in from non-tech companies should automatically get low balled? The math I am doing right now doesn't even cover cost of living costs
Well, I was pointing out people are not realistic. If you have experience they are looking for, it will be more valued. These days, even the experience at Microsoft is undervalued and low balled. Microsoft seniors get SDE 2 offer from Google while Google seniors get principal offer from Microsoft.
