How is this offer look with a startup for architect role? Base - 230k Sign on -30 k Bonus - 20% Stock units - 3800 over the period of 4 years. They are taking steps to go ipo according to the recruiter a year .

Sounds like they are seriously low balling you on equity. Basically you'd make nothing from the IPO and would have to wait for the stock to go up significantly to make anything.
Don’t ever believe any recruiter, they lie through their teeth to get you to accept the offer. Then you find out, it’s all lies

40K/4 years for RSU? lol, either they forgot a 0 in the offer or this is the most lowball offer ever.
I would reply outlining their typo - they left a zero out in the equity
