"Expected Salary" for Amazon

What should I tell the recruiter for expected salary at Amazon Seattle for a SWE role? They want to know expected TC (salary bonus and stock). YOE 3, TC 100k. Not sure the balance between shooting for a really high number and what's too high.

200k TC is fair for SDE II which is probably what you’re interviewing for. Try to get a competing offer though, your current TC may hinder your negotiation options.

200 tc? Can you give a breakdown ?

200k sounds fair. It’ll probably be around 130-145k base with the rest in RSU+sign-on. You don’t need to tell them that your current TC is 100k either.

Yeah it’s cover difficult to get 200 from 100 with no competing offers

Sure if they know u are on 100 atm

No competing offers yet but I'll keep that in mind. I suppose telling them 200 is probably fine and don't disclose my current TC?

yeah, tell them 200 and don’t disclose your current TC and see how they respond

Tell the recruiter you expect 0. If the recruiter asks why, tell that you don’t work at shitty companies like Amazon, but you interview with them just for practice.

It depends if you meet the bar for L5 or L4 during the interviews. 200k may not be possible if you are deemed to be at L4.
