Expecting an offer there. What should I anticipate getting? Have offers from a few other startups, no G/FB.

Any thoughts on direction/health of the company at the moment?

Affirm is an Unethical company which charges 30% interest rates, ironically “Honest financing”... we are a payday loan company.

Is this just a general observation? They seem to want to branch out a bit going forward - any red flags on particular teams?

We will not branch out soon, our product managers are inexperienced and have no clue. The Funding and hype is just because we have a celebrity CEO.

Personally I would vote for Amazon than affirm.

I noticed your pm team seems junior.

How is your head of Product?

Coming from a product like Pinterest, fairly unfit for fintech products imo.

I actually ended up getting the recruiter call a bit early - about 30k more in base, your estimate on options is correct though.

Does one have to pass all test cases to get to on-site?
I had given many hackerrank challenges and found this one toughest to get all test cases right.

      Questions were authorization part 1 2 3.

I would say the company is doing well in the core business, the growth rate is very high and we were able to recently fundraise on great terms.

We are working on branching out into other financial products; this is going slower than one might like but I'm encouraged by efforts in this direction since our new head of product was hired.

Any insight around the stock option current value?

You can see leaks about a recent fundraise, including even the Delaware filing. We have early exercise as well as 7 years past leaving to hold the options if we stay at least two years, so I would say the terms are pretty employee-friendly.

      What does early exercise mean?
      May 4, 2018
    • Affirm +-
You can exercise your options when you start working, before they vest, which can be better for tax purposes (though it doesn't matter as much when the company is later stage)
