In a call with the Google recruiter, they want me to have an answer for expected salary ahead of the next call. Am in the state of WA. How do you calculate expected salary and ensure you are not getting under balled? Update: 6years of experience and level 6 at Amazon with a total comp of $280k (ux designer)
Tree fiddy is the goal
Yeah based on your YOE / responsibilities at current role you should be able to gauge the expected level at G. Use levels.fyi (or just scrape Blind) for the top end of that salary band and use that. Recruiters ask you this to also figure out what interviewing level they should place you for. Might be able to find some numbers for you if you have an idea what level you're going for.
Going to be interviewing for ux design at level 6
Provide your ladder and yoe and we will give u an idea
Updated the post :)
It’s literally the entire point of blind, to share existing TC numbers to help form a reasonable expectation. If Blind gave a shit about diversity you’d share ethnicity/gender if you’re getting lowballed by someplace.
1- search blind for TC numbers posted by other people for your level 2- get the 90th percentile of such numbers 3- multiply that by 1.2 and tell the recruiter that's your expectation they'll not give you exactly what you want but this will ensure they at least give you higher than average offer. in order to actually get a 90th percentile offer you'll need a competing offer
Does this also apply if you already have a job at very well known company and they reached out to you? Same leverage, typically, or is it different?
Check out http://levels.fyi
Bump. Same question. 5 years of experience in tech, 4 years of previous experience. L6 designer. Total comp is about 240 rn.
Are all principal designers considered T8? I can’t seem to get a straight answer during interview process
$280k?!? Jesus that is a pretty good salary 😶 I’m UI/UX at $125k sans bonus
My base is 125 and the Amazon stock helps in getting a good total comp! We are hiring ;-)
Check Glassdoor for sallary ranges in the position and area you are interviewing for. A sallary in Wa might sound high but not be sufficient if you are relocating to another area. So do your research
