Expecting offer from Netflix for Senior Software Engineer in Los Angeles with VFX/Animation group. My current TC is just under 200k. I am not sure what I should ask for? The number I see on Blind is close to $400k and $500k for Netflix but not sure if that applied to LA office. What is a reasonable to TC for LA area at Netflix?

750k should be what you must ask for.
The band at Netflix for Senior Software Engineer is very wide because it covers L5 to Jeff Dean (L10?). As a comparison point, low L5 TC at FB is 300K, and L10 would me over 1MM easily (maybe over 2MM). tldr: For Netflix, comp for Senior SWE varies a lot.
I’ve never seen a TLDR for two sentence before. You literally made your post 50% longer with your summary lmao
As per my understanding compensation is not an issue with Netflix. Everyone at Netflix have 5 years at least. There is nothing wrong in asking $400k+ considering your experience as well. Everyone is at $300k+ in Bay Area.
1) Netflix doesn’t ask for your expectation. They just give you top of market for your skills 2) you’re in LA, that does change “the market”. Generally from my understand the bay will be priced a bit higher 3) the group you’re hiring into also matters. I would assume you’ll get an offer for right around the $400k mark. 4) you generally don’t negotiate with them. Again, they pay top of market. You can provide research for why you deserve more, and I’ve heard it works sometimes but generally they already pay a ton, I would just accept right away if that’s what you want
If you don't know how much you are worth, Netflix generally gives you a good offer you won't refuse. You can be sure you are paid like what other engineers with similar background.
Did you or know anyone at Netflix that successfully negotiated/gave research for more pay?
If you have another offer, you can present it. And you may get a counter, or your offer will be recinded. If you don't have another better offer, don't try.
any updates?
OP, I am in similar situation. Please give us update🙏🙏🙏🙏. What was the offer?
OP, So what was the offer? Did you take it?

Congrats .. ask for 500 .. let them make their offer.. how was the interview LC? And how you got the call
I don't want to ask something way over the current market. Is $500k reasonable for LA?
I also know only what I hear I blind .. may be some Netflix people can pitch in to answer
