I have Linkedin offer in hand but still waiting on Facebook onsite results. For Google, I’m on team match stage and no HC yet. 1) How long after I match with a team can I get to HC? and if pass HC, how long does it take to get an official offer? 2) What reasons should I tell Linkedin when asking for extension? It seems like if I tell them I’m waiting on other companies, they might try to rush me even more. Thanks so much! TC: 190K LinkedIn Sr SWE TC: 275k Google L4: ??? Facebook E5: ??? yoe: 5
what job/role?
Sr SWE
What levels at FB, Goog and LNKD? Is the offer in hand a good one? When is it expiring? How much time has lapsed since your FB on-site? More info you provide- the more tailor-made will be the advice. For Google, typically you go to team match after the HC. Compensation committee is separate.
FB E5. Been almost 1 week since onsite Google L4 most likely (can’t tell until pass HC) TC included is Linkedin (275k) Offer expires next Friday For my case they do team match first because there are some mixed feedback and recruiter said doing so will increase my chance. How long did you wait between HC and compensation committee?
You already make 275K. Why do you want to take LI’s offer at 275K? FB E5 probably pay significantly more.
LinkedIn is definitely a fantastic place to work. I recently got a $275K offer for a senior role but had a 48 hour expiration date. I let it expire because I too had a pending Facebook offer at E5. Suffice to say, if you're optimizing for TC, the Facebook offer will be much more satisfying.
What makes you think you're going to get E5 at FB? 5 yoe could still easily put you in as E4. You won't know until the HC has made their decision.
Yeah I’m not sure either. I interviewed as E5 but you’re right that they might downlevel me to E4.
I think you are right, imagine them telling you, “we’re just waiting for a more interesting candidate before we can decide if we’ll proceed with you. If he does, we’ll offer both less and take in whomever’s cheaper” We are dealing with human beings after all so it’s easy to put ourselves in their shoes. Congrats on the offer btw!
Thanks! Yeah I agree. Do you have any advice on how to extend the deadline?
How long did LinkedIn take to get back about the onsite result.
At this stage tell the truth, it will be best outcome. They pressure you to take the job, that is their job - you have to know your decision and priority
