FAANG+ referrals

I’m a junior at one of the top 4 cs universities, and I’m trying to break into the big tech companies for the summer 2020 internship. Last year I applied to 500+ companies online without referrals and got like 1 interview, so I’ve decided to try my luck with referrals this year. I’ve built CRUD web apps and REST APIs with Flask, SQL Alchemy, and DynamoDB through my personal projects and previous internships (but more importantly I’ve done 150+ LC) and I’m mostly looking for backend SWE positions. Could anyone please help me out with referrals? Thanks!

Do you leetcode tho? Because big 4 don’t care about those CRUD apps. Wish you luck! 👌🏻

FAANG recruiters and interviewers literally come to your school to socialize and run career fairs where you can connect with them directly (unlike smaller schools). If you can’t get an offer from ANY company at that point, it’s you. Not them.

How do you stand out in career fairs if there are like a 1000 people in there talking to recruiters? Do a large portion of them actually get interviews?

There is NOT a thousand people afaik.
