Have 10yrs experience, being offered the following for an IC5 Product Designer role at Facebook MPK: 234k TC: 160k base, 50k equity, 24k bonus I don't see many PD packages listed here on Blind. But based on what I can find on Paysa or Glassdoor, this seems about market rate. Seem fair? Any negotiation tips?
Salary seems ok. Equity per year? Seems like a good offer. You could negotiate more equity or signing bonus if you have other offers.
Equity is 200k vesting over 4yrs. Or ~50k/yr
232k is on the lower side for 10 years of experience. Any competing offers? From my experience, Glassdoor is always way lower.
No competing offers at those point. What would you expect for 10yrs experience?
I’d 1000% get competing offers from a google, amazon, or Microsoft. That’ll drastically shift the offer. Hard to say what I’d expect, but I’m a designer 2.5 years out of school with same comp
Salary is in line with IC5. You can get more equity with competing offers.
For L5 offer? That’s a really low TC.. for someone with 10 years I would have expected at least a 180k base.. closer to 350kTC. Glassdoor is always much lower.
Solid offer; FB won’t negotiate within a level without additional data to substantiate. I’d eye roll if my recruiter told me you were going to wait and interview at Amazon and Microsoft. Years of experience isn’t really relevant. IC5 is a “senior” role, but your level is determined entirely by your interview and work you show. Especially if your 10years have been in different contexts (design agency, tiny startups) I wouldn’t expect a higher level.
Feel free to keep pressing though, it’s never bad to ask for what you want.
I'm E6 and was able to negotiate +40k without a competing offer, however I was in the middle of the interview process with Amazon. They gave me +40k TC to stop interviewing. I didn't want to go to Amazon anyway. Point is, some negotiation is possible if you nailed the interview.
My E5 offer was $180K, $25K signing, $180K RSUs. I countered and ended up getting a little more for each.
How about new grad designer comp? Thanks in advance!
Low. Uber will beat that.
Uber will beat almost everyone including the layoff schedule

As an Indian what would you choose as a career ?
MPK?
Menlo Park
If it’s 15% bonus should be 24k? Any sign on?
