Got an offer for E6. Being told that the standard offer is: Base:210k Bonus: 20% RSU: 550k Recruiter is telling me that they could probably do 220,20%,750k. Getting the 750k is going to be pretty hard and anything close to 1 million is going to almost not doable. How should I handle this? Referencing levels.fyi just gets well people inflate their numbers on sites like those. I do have two other offers, but they are not from a FAANG and they are not close to being in the 500-550k range. Thoughts? TC: 300k YOE: 15+
Any signing bonus? What is the location. This seems lower than other blind posts
Top for e5 is 200k base 700k rsu. I can imagine e6 top to be something like 240k base and 1m rsu. That would depend on your competing offer though
Yeah the competing offers don’t get into that range.
Whatever the recruiter says "they might be able to do" is what they for sure can do. That's ur starting place for negotiation. Just like when u tell a range to recruiter , ur starting point is the low end of that range.
It makes sense that it is the starting range but they are telling me that it is pretty much the top of the range and anything more would be really hard to do. Not sure how to break through that.
Start here https://haseebq.com/my-ten-rules-for-negotiating-a-job-offer/ Do u have any competing offers or interviews in pipeline?
When did you interview with them? How long did it take you to hear back from them after the onsite? I have seen quite a few posts from folks that mentioned $1M+ RSUs for E6.
I have seen that as well but I am being told and sorta believe that people are inflating those values.
I actually know 1.2 million RSU at L6 but only with competing offers. Otherwise 900k maybe the tops
Pretty sure 500K TC is possible at E6
Yes based on TechLead videos it is
My recent e6 offer was 225/20%/950k/100k
Did you have other competing offers that put you in that range, negotiate to it, or did it just happen to have them give you that amount?
I had a competing offer. But most importantly I was very clear about the range and midpoint I would consider.
You need a competing offer, my E6 offer was 240/20%/1.1M/100k. My recruiter said this is pretty much top of the line. I provided a competing offer email (redacted all personal info). This was the first offer and I did not negotiate. I am sure it can go up to 1.2M in RSU. Your best bet for competing offers are from Lyft, Uber, Airbnb or any of the unicorns. This is a pretty bad E6 offer. You can easily make more money with half the stress almost anywhere else.
But additional life insurance for your family too
Push hard for at least 1.2m stock and 150k sign on. The recruiter is BSing with you. Base is low as well. One of my friend got this E5 offer: 200 base, 690k RSU and 100k sign on
No way, the max I've seen across all of the people sharing comp at FB for E5 is 600k RSUs.
I got 650 rsu
