FB PM IC4/5 details

Currently an L6 Product Mgr (non-tech) in Retail. An FB recruiter reached out to me for a PM role in Seattle. The receuiter said that the role can be an IC4 or 5 depending on the interview performance. 1. Can anyone here share their interview experiences for PMs at these levels and at a high level, what are the key factors in offering 4 vs 5 ? 2. Additionally, while my current work involves working with the dev team on a day to day basis, the product isnt a core tech product as is typically the case with Amazon retail and would also like to understand if technical depth required for a PM role at FB is significantly higher than Amazon retail and if IC5 would be too much of a stretch even if I am able to get the offer ? TC - 200k (Seattle) yoe - 5 (2 as pm, 3 in product analytics)

Can’t answer about your level - but if you’re not sure go for IC4, but trust in their process to level you. As for technical chops, not critical. If it was, there would be an interview specifically for this and there isn’t.

Thank you for the info. Would IC4 be at least a 10-15% bump above my current TC. Also, how long does an average promo from 4 to 5 take ?

Can be depending on how you negotiate the RSUs. Promotions in PM happen quickly if you’re under level / over performing.

Thanks, how different is the difference in scope between 4 and 5. Is it as different as 6 vs 7 at Amazon ?
