Currently E5 SWE in Messenger at FB, 10 years of experience, making around 340K, got pinged by a recruiter for a Staff position at LNKD. How much I should expect in total comp at that level there? Don’t get me wrong, there’s other aspects that interest me about LNKD, like a better life/balance and shorter commute but any TC numbers would be greatly appreciated!!
Staff is same as senior at LinkedIn.
Ladder at LI Swe>senior swe>staff swe>senior staff swe>fuhgeddaboutit Good seniors make 350. Entry staff make 350. So Median staff will go higher.

Are you anywhere near e6? You can then negotiate for senior staff
Unfortunately no, made E4 > E5 jump a year ago, and got a nice TC bump a couple of times but as far as I see it’s tough to make E6
Then staff seems fair. Unless it's around 50-100k more though, would you consider switching? My rule of thumb is around a 100k increase. Also depends on what other factors are important to you - work, culture, perks, commute etc.

3 years, took me 1.5 to go e3 to e4, 1y e4 to e5
That's fast . E5->E6 is tougher ?
Would you say your TC at fb is the median for E5 there or below the median?
I’d say it’s the median, I started as an E3 here so if you get hired from an outside you might get better comp in this level but not by much afaik
I have seen 350 - 450k depending on experience and competing offers
