Hello, I would like to understand the Corporate levels within FB ( esp data science product analytics teams) , their roles and responsibilities. Also, if possible compare it with Banking/consulting titles (eg: Analyst, Associate, VP, Director , MD etc). What level would be appropriate for a VP or Director managing teams of 6-8 (including managers, analysts) and responsible for multi billion $ portfolios/risk ?
Not analogous at all.
Managing 6-8 ppl would be more of a managerial level in large tech companies.
Closest thing that might be helpful but not fully on par is: levels.fyi Banking titles are inflated and coming from a different industry also means you'll likely be downleveled
Unless you are being headhunted for a specific position, you are most likely going to get downleveled if you apply yourself. Lucky if you get M1.
Big difference between VP and director buddy
I’ve seen VP -> E4, Director -> E5
That’s a manager at FB. You don’t get vp unless you managed a 300+ person org. We don’t title inflate for ego boost, that’s in banking.
