I applied about a month ago and a recruiter told me they are freezing all hiring operations for devs with less than 4 yoe. How do we know when the hiring freeze is over?
Apparently it happens this time of year due to new grads. However I’ve seen one recruiter say this and another hire entry level at the same time, so it could be a general guideline or maybe you aren’t good enough on paper. I’m guessing that hiring goes by quarters.
I just had an interview so I’m probably at the tail end. Awaiting my rejection right now.

I worked at FB. Rejected plenty of folks who thought they were awesome. We didn’t necessarily tell them they were wrong, but often they completely missed what we were looking for. May not be the case here, but worth considering.
Because FB has the shittiest codebase and they refuse to hire <=E4. Only E5+ can save their ass now, and keep throwing money at them.

Completely wrong. We hire very few e5+. And our codebase is generally pretty good.

It happened for a while, I interviewed with them in April. I got the same response, they have hire freeze for non senior roles. Recruiter said I did great in phone screen, but she could not schedule onsite interviews because of hire freeze. She will schedule onsite for me when they have head counts

I had referred my friend, he had got a call and then hr send rejection even before phone screen happened, saying they are not hiring for a junior role right now. I think Facebook is going Netflix route.
