IC5 at FB, interviewing with Amazon for L6 role. Going on-site and want to have my comp expectations lined up. Anyone have a breakdown of FB benefits, in terms of $ being left on the table, compared to Amazon? I saw a great breakdown on MSFT vs Amazon, it was something like 14k/year. I think Facebook would be even more. I have FB’s EPO health plan, with coverage for me + spouse. I’m not relocating. TC: 170k
Just went through an offer the other way (Amazon to FB) for comparison. FB offers an additional 3% of 401k match, Wellness benefit ($720), and roughly $2k savings on PPO premiums with $3k lower out-of-pocket max. That’s before all the perks, which could easily save $200-500 monthly. Obviously much of this is elective, but there are significant savings to be had—in the order of $10-15k yearly if fully exercised. That said, Amazon comp team will tell you to GTFO with talk of benefits (see: Frugality). Bring a competing offer and get that back in RSUs. Or lean into the trend over the last three months on the share price.
This is perfect, thank you for these numbers! I take advantage of my great health insurance, so I’m going to need the amazon offer to really help on the sign-on, otherwise I won’t take an offer.
TC so low at IC5? Non-tech?
Correct.
DM’ed you.
