For Seattle Location, Assuming numbers are similar (close) which is better in terms of (a) work life balance (b) vacation days (c) quality of work (d) perks (e) less politics/B.S. and better managers, in general.

Expecting E5/L5 offers from these. Currently, L6 at Amazon with 300k TC.

      Yea. Maybe Airbnb is best. FB probably has more interesting work and will give you good exit opportunities.

    (a) WLB --> Airbnb> Lyft > Fb
    (b) Vacation --> Lyft > Airbnb ~ Fb (unlimited PTOs at Lyft)
    (c) Quality of Work --> Lyft > Fb > Airbnb
    (d) Perks --> Fb ~ Airbnb ~ Lyft
    (e) Less politics/BS --> Lyft > Airbnb ~ Fb

    Thats my view.

    OP, no matter the company. Point (e) is always a risk.
    There are assholes in EVERY company.

    I would say Airbnb > Lyft > FB from the perspective of wlb. Added bonus Airbnb has lot of upside with it's pre ipo stocks.

      How are vacation policies and managers at Lyft? During onsite the culture seemed to he similar and frankly a little bit laidback at both Lyft and Airbnb.

      Managers - depends on the team. Lot of variability. Work culture in general is good. Sometimes gets aggressive goals but if you are good then you will survive.

      Are there PIP targets like Amazon has 6% of un-regretted attrition targets and stack ranking?
      Jun 14
    • Lyft ccxdr
      Not sure if there is a target but last performance cycle 6% engineers got PiP and 10% product. This is the first time this data was published internally so no sure if it was one time thing or a regular thing.

    You cant ask for everything, you gotta prioritize... I don't think any of those companies are better than the other two in all 5 categories.

      What about google?

      Same thing for Google, I don't think Google is better than those three companies in all 5 criteria. I wouldn't be surprised if Airbnb had better WLB than Google. Vacation days at Google is also nothing special.

    Dumb question, those factors are entirely based on team and org, not company (yes, even wlb at FB).
