FB vs NetFlix TC

I passed the tech onsite with netflix. My cur TC at FB is 190/600 as E5, so my TC is 368.5. how much salary from netflix will match FB TC? is it 368.5? obviously I will make more from FB with annual refresher of 120 avg. so my real FB TC is 398.5, 428.5,458.5,488.5 next 4 years, maybe paycut after that if not promoted to 6 So how much I should ask from netflix to match my current TC?

Depend on the team and you skills 400-500K. Likely low 400

What was interview process like?

Netflix Budmound Jun 22, 2018

If you’re front-end, probably low to mid 300’s. Full stack or backend, high 300-low 400. Add in a niche skill that’s really needed and I’ve seen offers push mid to high 400’s. Source: bulletin board that we post all h1b offers on by law.

Why lower for front end?

Netflix Budmound Jun 22, 2018

I don’t make the offers, just citing what I’ve seen on the bulletin board

It’s not possible to get 500?

Netflix yesottoman Jun 22, 2018

Without any background information, such as what you will work on, your skillset, yoe etc, no one can give you definitive answer. What you are making today has not much effect on what Netflix will pay you

If your current comp is $368k you will get an offer above that if they want to hire you. No way to know how much more without knowing all your details and doing market research. Projecting what you will make in future years is irrelevant. FB stock could drop 20% and then what does next year look like? I’ve seen plenty of people at Netflix get significant 10% or more increases after their first full year. I’ve averaged about 10% increases each year for the past 4 or 5 years, but I’m not a developer. Netflix stock has been far better than FB stock as well, so if you have been putting just 100k of your Comp into options over the past 3 years at Netflix, you’d have several million $ by now.
