Anyone from FB know what levels Client Solutions Managers and Client Partners typically are? Trying to figure out the difference in experience between the two.
Different functions/ladders, CSMs can be higher than CP in level
Ah I see. I was under the impression that CSMs are typically trying to move into a CP role.
Not necessarily. CSMs are usually young, and CPs are usually a little experienced, and hence the perception. There are many CSMs who are career CSMs at Facebook.
Normally, CP are higher afaik. But yes they are different ladder. It’s like asking who is higher EM or PM. CSM are expected to be more technical and hands on with the tools. CP are more focused on business aspect, although they cover for each other and depend on each other. Disclaimer: I am an engineer, don’t work in sales
For cp, csm there is more of a commission structure, based on goals etc. Not something I totally understand
CP comp is 50% salary/50 commission or 60/40 depending on level. CSM is usually 75/25 ... so if you hit your quota, you make more as a CP, but you’re more protected on downside as a CSM. In general, CPs do less “work” and get more credit for the success, but it’s a lot of internal work in managing up and explaining your forecast/pipeline. Most CPs cannot function without their CSM, but savvy CSMs are fine without CPs. Again depends on levels, but CSM base may be $100k-$160k (level 3-6) with 25%-40% bonus, so TC could range from $125k - $220k. CP bases may be similar but higher TC (if attained) would be $200k- $300k+. They have just started mandating level 5 to be a CP on most teams. So best advice for taking a role, negotiate level up, bc it’s HARD to move up levels. It’s a high school popularity contest, and not based on who actually hits their number quarter after quarter.
Thank you for the context! Not many people know about these roles on Blind. How does TC look? Interested in how much stock is granted
No prob! I’m new to blind and seems like a lot of Eng on here. What’s google sales like? Equity for FB sales is not much, compared to some of the eng numbers I’ve seen on here.. $10k/year over 4 years ... but refreshers happen, and at least it’s a stock that has true value IMO, having worked at a company where the company never went public and those shares became worthless.

CPs mainly deal with general client relationship and vertical growth. CSMs are responsible for the product sales to specific clients.
Nice, what levels are CPs compared to CSMs?
