3+ yoe. E4. Base 150. Equity 240/4. Bonus 10% of base. Total comp is 225. No signing bonus. How much more can I ask for? I have a competing offer from a series F company but does Facebook negotiate against paper money?
You need a better competing offer. If you get it, you can push for 160/300 with 50-100K sign on. The more you can get early on, the better!
Similar yoe with the same offer. I'd ask for more stock or a sign on bonus if possible, I made the mistake of jumping on it without asking (not smart but hey you live and learn)
I accepted l5 offer very similar numbers... It was double my previous TC, but boy I was ignorant...
Were you able to get to proper l5 comp level after you joined perhaps after a yr or so?
Does fb ask for proof of competing offers?
Way low. Minimum $250k
Man you guys are entitled AF for 3 YOE thinking you're worth more than 225 LOL
ask for 260 at least.
I can just ask without a higher competing offer?
you can - request politely. a smart strategy sometimes is to ask for more stock. recruiters are more hesitant to increase base than give you more stocks. that's what I did with Amazon. I asked for 30 more stock units. it gives them the impression that u believe in the company and u are willing to take a gamble on ur tc. as for the base, it will be adjusted to reflect your level if you are being paid less automatically. also don't ignore the value fb is adding to ur resume, you may be short sighted now, but the brand value will have a huge impact on ur next jump.
