Google might actually match on comp
L4 base maxes at $165k, so Google will have to throw in RSUs to match TC which means future base increase will be super low without promo.
I think most Googlers familiar with both promo systems would say L4 at Google is something like E4.5 at Facebook (it’s definitely somewhere between E4 and E5).

I’ve found Google gives higher weight to years of experience than FB. If you have had fast growth and big scope compared to YoE, this can act against you. Most of Xooglers around me did lateral transfers from G to FB with same level.
Level is decided based on interview. Both will match each other’s Offer. How does it matter what recruiter tells you ? HC decided the level.
L4 is just 1 level above l3 which is what fresh undergrads with 0 years experience get. Google folks correct me if I am wrong. I feel it’s ridiculous to give L4 for someone with 13 years of experience. I would take fb e5. For you to get to l6 it can easily take 5 to 6 years at google
There's plenty of people with 13 yrs exp who are definitely at the skills of L4, but if FB is willing to do E5 I'd take that.
T5/E5 are equivalent from the job description. Googles bar is a bit higher and they don’t like to give out T5 offers lower experience levels (ex <10 years). Since T4 competing with E5 offers is so common they are able to match comp, but it will be a more stock heavy package with salary capping around 155-165.
