Facebook E5 SWE hiring bar

Recently got interviewed in FB Seattle for E5 role (as per recruiter). Still waiting for the result. Here is how the interview went.

1 System design - answered all the questions but didn't feel like was able to drive the conversation all the way. The interviewer had to ask me some stuff explicitly.

1 Behavioral - Don't know how I did but the guy was pushing me to give concrete examples

1st coding - 2 medium. coded the first one but couldn't complete coding the 2nd one
2nd coding - 1 easy 2 medium. All done with coding
3rd coding - this one was a training interview. I was told result will not be considered but I coded one medium and gave algorithm and wrote half code for one hard.

Is this enough for E5 bar?
How long does it take for the feedback?

What was the system design question? I can tell you the depth needed for L5

I think they just want to make sure that all the knowledge in your head was communicated. Ex. When you are clarifying the usage patterns you can also mention how that will influence your decisions on data consistency and availability (if it's eng metrics we probably want it up to the second, if it's data science we probably want it up to a day old) vs. just asking "whats the usage patterns"

It's just simple counting by some ID analytics. Real-time. I mentioned Apache Storm and Spark. He said it's ok to mentioned technology name but I also explained the underlying threading an IO pattern they use and why those are the best choice for the real-time system.

I see... Did you mention failovers? If I remember correctly storm has a central coordinator that runs on single machine, and there was a design for this

I did. when this question came, I gave him two options. One is a central coordinator based. Another one is consistent hashing based. Explained the pros and cons of both approaches. But the thing is he had to ask me about this. I didn't add that part by myself. Not sure if that is negative.

I think that's fine actually. If you were going for L6 maybe it would reflect worse since that role emphasizes leadership.

From what I hear from my friends, FB cares a lot for coding speed. If you do not finish coding you are out. So you are out from the 1st coding interviewer POV. From what you have written behavioral interview was negative. Please let us know the outcome either way.
    Goodluck.

Yeah, I heard the same thing too. I remember the interviewer was talking so fast too. But he was pushing me to quickly give him the idea of what I was going to do for the 2nd one. So I thought he didn't give up at least but yeah he will rank me lower than the ppl who did 2 complete coding.

Based on your description, it sounds doubtful. Leaning no hire or downlevel.

You might be okay but I had the same issue of not being able to finish the second q in both my rounds ; maybe doing 3 in the second round will compensate ?
