I got 185 base, 100 sign and 1M rsus, so definitely a room for negotiation. Was L5 at G. But I had really big counter from G, after I told them I am leaving. Until that counter, FB was strongly fixed on 185/100/600.

What is the vesting schedule for RSUs?
      Jan 23, 2018
    • Facebook AdVV54
Google counter was on par with FB final offer. Vesting schedule is standard - 4 years with one year cliff . Note, that since 2018 FB is abolishing the cliff

Did you tell G you were leaving without first accepting the offer at fb? Or did fb revise after you accepted? Also, did you have to show proof of counter offer?

How does this work with an h1b? Wouldn’t you wait for h1b transfer first before letting google know?

    • wow thats high RSUs! new vesting for facebook stock is no cliff - every 3 months.

  • Sign on can go up to 100. Everything else is good. Ask for 100 sign up and 600k to sign and see what happens

How do you know? You can’t compare Seattle to sv. I know it’s upper band in the industry. But trying to find out what it is within FB.

Seattle and bay area have same offers for fb and G afaik.

It’s upper band for L5. I have 10+ years of experience (4 years at Facebook , started as L5) and I just touched 200k base salary number.

That’s right, SV and Bay Area are the same for fb. 200 is high base for E5

200k is the highest E5 base I’ve heard of for a new hire.

My memory was wrong and I just corrected the rsus to 500k.
I was L65 at MS. No competing offers.

How's life at fb btw? Liking it so far?

    • Google mrrobot431
Oh wait looks like L65 is borderline e6 according to level.fyi. why settling for 5
      Feb 27, 2018
    • Facebook FakingIt
Borderline e6 means e5 unless you ace the interviews. I definitely didn't ace the system design interviews since I had no experience with such things and didn't do enough prep there. I believe I aced the coding questions thus my job offer.

The comp was better than my MS gig so it was fine with me to get e5 then I have time to learn the culture and tech before needing to perform at e6.

I'm still in bootcamp and haven't picked a team yet so take this with a grain of salt but I'm loving fb so far.

I am waiting to see their counter. If not, prob Facebook. I don’t see any downside of Facebook compare to uber. Pay is a plus right?

In my case, Uber was giving 1.5M already, but FB said that they dont give a s*** about paper stocks.

Based on what you mentioned in the other thread, this offer is less than what you currently make at Google. Or am I not understanding this comp correctly. This adds up to a TC of ~400k correct? (200 + 137 + 50)

How easy is it to go to e6 in Facebook?
    Jan 24, 2018 1
    • Facebook / Eng Qnyv15
IC6 here. You have to be doing the job already for at least 1 half, have meets expectations for 2 consecutive halfs, and there is a demonstrated business need for your promotion. It's hard. IC5 is considered terminal so you can stay there if you want.

Why people here make so much more than what is reported on Glassdoor?

    • Brocade flyhigh1
Possibly, the comp drops after 4 years (ie, after the initial vest runs out)

Possibly due to older data when comps were lesser than current weighing the average down

That’s not really the market. If you go outside of FAANG you will hardly see anyone making that kind of money in the junior levels (L4,5). Not many companies have stock valued like them.

Base is high, equity is high and sign on is average. I’d say you’re upper band for all but sign on cash. Aim for 100K sign on

Base is pretty much at the top of the band. Rsu can go higher, but that may not happen after such a strong base. Ask google to counter, you will be surprised what google can come back with. Then negotiate back with Facebook.
