you can no longer delete your fb account in 2 weeks. The platform asks for a 1 MONTH Grace period.


FB, get your shit together.

trying to retain users this way, is such a bad move in all regards.

    This is more honest than saying it’ll delete all information in a week... I imagine in this time frame user data is purged from all drives such that by day 30 your data has just a small footprint to delete.

    The conclusions of the article were somewhat misleading:

    "Facebook's value is tied to its massive number of users"

    Since we are talking about inactivated users in a grace period, retaining inactive users is not a metric ties to their value.
    Daily "Active" Users is not increased or retained by inactive users.
