Facebook Onsite Feedback / Hiring Process

From my understanding, after the onsite there is a interviewer debrief during which time they make a decision. (https://www.teamblind.com/article/Facebook-Order-of-steps-after-onsite-EpNm1rwn)

1. The recruiter has seen the feedback by this time. If you receive positive "vibes" from the recruiter, is this a good sign? It's at least not a no?
2. Recruiter asked about salary expectations multiple times and said the committee will need this info. Does this mean I've passed the "first round" and now they are drafting an offer?

For my wife it took them 1 week to get back with the job offer. I believe they asked her only 1 time about salary expectations. She had another offer at that time from another company. She told them how much they are willing to pay and Facebook offered her much more after that. She joined after getting the visa transfer .

Did she disclose the competitor's offer after they gave her the offer?

I had the same situation. I told them about my other offer. And they gave me more than I expected

But then if you really want the job then ask the average salary for your level. Check Glassdoor for salary range

Yeah she told them how much the competitor is offering- base salary+ bonus yearly+ signing bonus+ stocks. The Facebook recruiter didn’t want to know the name of the competitor, so she didn’t disclose it.

The hiring committee is what is going to make the final decision.

If the recruiter said that the feedbacks were positive then it's a good sign. It means that you didn't do bad. If it was negative then the committee will have an unanimous no.

Since it's positive there can be 2 things that the hiring committee will decide.
    1. If it was very positive then they will say yes.
    2. If it is somewhat positive then they'll look t other factors. That's when your salary expectation comes into play. If you asked too much then they will lean towards a no

      Got it. That is helpful!

And what I meant by the above is that the recruiter hasn't told me anything about the feedback yet, but I'm assuming she has seen the feedback on the internal tool. Her interactions with me since have been overwhelmingly positive so I am assuming I didn't bomb the interview at least.

Do you know if your previous interviewers have a say in the final decision? If 2 of your last round interviewers didn't love you but someone in your 2nd round did, what impact does that have?

  • I pulled a “give me 20k more sign on and I’ll sign today” with Facebook and got it approved within a few hours
