Facebook: Order of steps after onsite

So I'm in the post interview anxiety phase after an onsite at FB and trying to understand the process and also want to write this out for others who are in my situation.

After talking to my recruiter and after browsing through the posts here in blind, I think here are the steps. (Q1==>) Can somebody at facebook confirm these ?

0. Interview.

1. Debrief with all the interviewers - Recruiter gathers feedback from all the interviewers. Each interviewer gives a hire/no-hire decision, along with a confidence score (4 being highly confident, 0 means not confident at all). If feedback is clear hire/no-hire, it proceeds to next step/reject. Or If the feedback is mixed, the interviewers debrief and try to arrive at a consensus. If they arrive at a hire consensus or still divided after this meeting, it proceeds to step 2. I'm still not sure who takes a final call on proceeding to next step.. (Q2==> can somebody answer who takes this call ??)

2. Candidate Review - Recruiter collects everything in step 1 in a "packet" and presents it to top leaders/directors/other senior people to give a final hire/no-hire decision. In this step in addition to the the interviewers feedback, they look at internal references, and pay more attention to the behavioural interview, with a focus on "would this person fit in our org" mindset. IIUC, "levelling" happens here. The interviewers are free to attend this meeting if they want to vouch for the candidate. If everything looks good, then proceed to next step, otherwise straight reject if any red flags. Follow up interviews for mixed signals.

3. Exec Review : The finance team comes up with $$$ numbers, recruiter collects all this and presents it to the Executive team. They look at the offer from the financial perspective and consider long term budget/headcount for that level. IMO rejections at this stage are rare for SWE, but they still do happen. They sign off on the offer and recruiter presents this to the candidate.

4. PARTY !!!!!!!! (for me lol, I'm so desperate atm that I'd definitely party all night )

(Q3 ==> Can somebody tell what the rejection rate/how likely I'm to be rejected at step 2 and 3 after clearing step 1?).

OP: I cannot thank you enough for this. Wow seriously. I posted for the same thing a couple of days back. I am a new grad and going through the post onsite anxiety right now. When I posted people called me impatient and what not. But this post is gold for people like me and you right now. Thanks again. Appreciate it. Also is the candidate review also called the hiring committee?

You don't want to go to fb man, their wlb is insane. I cancelled my on-site after learning a few things from people on the inside...

Hmm..interesting perspective. My main motivation is to work in FB for 2 years or so and then relocate to an FB office outside US. Or even otherwise, I'd be able to get something good/set up something of my own very easily if I have FB in my resume. I'm single currently so I think I can slog for a while now and set myself up for a good future.

Ok get this. A full timer now at Google told me this. He is pretty smart and interned at msft, fb and google. At fb, he was on a deep learning team and he was told by his manager in a 1 on 1 that the other interns on his team are checking in code at 2am on a Saturday. His manager then uses that to question his motivation...

As i said.. i completely understand.. i am in a startup right now where wlb benifits is not existant and pay is shit.. so many other companies have rejected me for lacking relevant expedience.. also im interviewing at other places, im in the pipeline but i dont have a single offer .. my understanding is that an offer from a company like fb would open so many doors quickly..

Since nobody else answered your questions as asked:

    Q1 - pretty much, yes.

Q2 - The interview loop makes the go/no-go call in step 1 as a group. Usually the person doing the behavioral interview leads the thread toward some consensus, but not always.

If the feedback is mixed and people don’t agree, or the negative feedback was low confidence, you can sometimes have an extra follow-up interview of that type on the phone.

Q3 - I don’t have data on the rate anymore (hiring pipeline tools got a lot more private last year). Rejections in candidate review are somewhat common for on-the-edge cases, especially if none of the interviewers in the loop attend candidate review to support their decision.

I’ve never heard of a rejection after candidate review approves. The only negative outcomes I’ve seen at that point are candidates turning us down for not offering as much money as one of their competing offers.

So you mean the rejection in the candidate review is also very rare?

Stage 4 as in? And you think the entire thing which OP mentioned is correct in every way?

Yes, very close. He missed the comp negotiation part which happens after 2 but before 3. That's when you tell the recruiter your desired numbers.
      Stage 4 = party

How does the initial phone/in-person screening interview figure in this ? Is it just for screening and of no consequence thereafter ?
