Facebook Relocation, Selling Home
Hey there Blind Fam! If I need to sell my house for a relocation, does FB help out with that? Is that something I can negotiate? Appreciate the tips! No offer yet, just checking flexibility. Aiming for M0 level position.

Lots of companies offer to make you whole if you end up taking a loss on your house during a relo but I can’t imagine they’ll do much more than that.
What do you want covered? Chances are it won't be sold for a loss, highly unlikely they will cover agent fees, you might be able to ask for an all up relocation bonus but it's pretty much just signing bonus. I believe they can help you find an agent to buy a home and deal with all of the moving fees though.

They have a standard relocation package, 10k for 1 person, 25k for family. Out of that, you can use the deduct the money for closing costs and etc tax free. Whatever is remaining, you can cash it out but pay taxes.

If you’re senior enough at Microsoft they will pay for an agent to sell your home cover up to $60,000 of closing costs and also pay all closing costs to buy a new home

Often as part of negotiation, if you asked for more or had counter offers or were looking to wait for other interviews such as Google, one of the easiest things they would up is sign on. Upwards of 100k won't be big for people at M0, likely higher
