Facebook Seattle

A Fb recruiter reached out to me for a role with a team in Seattle that is going to be pre allocated . I am sure I dont want to move to Seattle. Should I tell the recruiter straight up I wouldnt want to move and look at other roles. Or should I give my best for the interview and if they want to move ahead with the offer then tell them I dont want to, I hear some people do the switch even during bootcamp. YOE 1.5

How do you get FB recruiters to reach out to you? I have 1.25 YOE and a fully updated Linkedin. Promoted twice.

Gotcha, thanks!

Better to go ahead with the Interview. After you get an offer you can ask to be considered for MPk.

The recruiter explicitly mentioned the job is in Redmond. Even I think the same but I am worried if it will show bad faith.

Doesnt matter dude. Worst case you change teams internally to MPK after joining the company. Focus on cracking the interviews first.

If you are definitely sure that you wouldn’t move to Seattle even if you get the offer then why don’t you just tell the interviewer you want MPK instead? You save both of your times.

I dont know how this works at FB, but for amazon they specifically say they would have to get me in touch with a recruiter from say PaloAlto teams... and then nobody calls. So i just keep giving interviews for Seattle. Someone on Blind said that after you get an offer you can always deny it or ask to be matched to a team in a diff region.. This is for amazon. I assumed same for FB

Oh I see. In that case, you can try to get offer for Seattle and ask to switch before you sign. If there’s headcount in MPK, recruiter would most likely agree.
