I’m considering a Facebook Solutions Engineer offer and the equity grant is about half of what I’ve seen on here for same level SWE. Would you expect the refreshers to make up for the difference? I think most candidates that pass a SE interview could pass the SWE interview so what is the upside of the SE role? I’m interested in the role but I feel I could do either job well and the difference in compensation is not small by any means.
What was the offer? E5?
This is entirely not true. Swe and others have very different bar
SE interview has 2 coding interviews and I have read that SWE interview has 3 coding interviews. Also recruiter told me only 1 coding interview is needed for a transfer from SE to SWE. Could you elaborate on how the bar is different?
You need to be careful of this recruiter. Any non swe to swe has to go through full swe loop as with any external candidate (at least 2 ninja + 1 pirate) The interview bar is much higher for swe. Question might be similar, but expectation is very different. I think you know what I mean.
The upside is that you get FB on your resume even if you didn't pass the swe bar. Also that recruiter totally lied to you or you misunderstood. Full or close to full loop is required.
Can I DM your FB SE interview experience?

TikTok Sell or Ban - What am I Missing?
I was under the impression that solution engineer is not on par with a SWE. Solution engineer is customer facing working on the Ad side of the house
