Anyone willing to chat on experience in either client solutions or marketing roles? Or comment here of course. Trying to gauge what I’m a better fit for. Targeting Chicago as I have family there and can relo fast. Mostly in-house digital marketing background, with current role in a corporate in-house agency.

CSM roles vary by vertical, some are easy going others incredibly toxic. Chicago has some Retail but mostly CPG verticals. My own opinion is that CPG CSM roles are generally way easier than with complex DR advertisers. Marketing is a bit of a hot mess at FB. Depends on the specific area but generally not a lot of direction, level of talent is just OK and you kind of have to create something out of nothing. Personally I always preferred proximity to product, hands on experience which CSM can help provide. Marketing without fully understanding how products work is kinda useless to me.
