Given this year’s challenging current circumstances for FB, has there been a change in morale and culture? Also - are there significant leadership changes that have affected teams negatively? (I’ve always held FB in high regard, from its market stance, mission and vision statements and values to the friendliness of staff but just curious on current state). Thanks!
Morale at Facebook is reportedly in the dumps https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/14/facebook-morale-plunges-from-last-year-wsj.html This makes me wanna take a dump!
As long as their fat paychecks come in they will stay.
The company grew way too fast in 2017 and it’s put a lot of stress on all the orgs. I think this past year has been tumultuous in the press but internally no one is bothered by that stuff. It’s mostly the insane growth, execs leaving and all the constant reorgs. The PSC process was supposed to be empowering for folks but now that we’ve grown into a huge worldwide corporation, everyone has to super specialize and work on really hard problems that can’t be solved in 6 months. This has put a strain on teams needing to work on smaller things to maintain impact. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks jar2018 for the valuable insight! Not surprising that the huge surge of additional HC would disrupt the usual mode of operation. Great to hear that the external stress has not really impacted FB folks. Best of luck going forward! 👍😄
