Facebook

I've having some early conversations with Facebook. I have about 20 years of experience in embedded software/firmware. What level should I be shooting for in FB? What is a typical TC? Thanks.

10M. Jk(or am I). At this point, I think it's just what you negotiate with them and how much value you would be bringing to them.

What does TC stand for?

They'll give you a level, probably e5. Make sure to also get into the process at google so they give you a strong offer

E5 or above. Most likely E5.

20 yrs exp sounds like at least an E6 to me...

I guess one needs to really ace the interviews to get slotted at L6 I believe, or have competing offers- or FB will downlevel . Is it not accurate ?

That’s accurate but not the whole picture. If you have 20 YOE and can’t meet E6 expectations I suspect we just wouldn’t hire you.

FB Is a sleazy company selling personal data, refusing to ban outright lies in advertising and enabling corrupt influence in democratic elections worldwide. Long term, it’s going to decline as people realize their personal data has value. And no I don’t have a FB, IG or WA account.

Nope. They reached out and I declined. I understand all companies have some shady practices and Amazon is no angel, but my conscience won’t let me work at FB. I wouldn’t be able sleep at night.

Bro, I spend about 20 mins daily on Blind. I’ve got a full, happy life. Just warning people away from making a mistake. It’s all good!
