Offered e5 at Facebook with 15 years experience at Microsoft. Is this a good deal?
should be around 350k tc
You mean tree fiddy?
What level are you at MS?
65
Try see if you can go as e6, check out level comparisons at levels.fyi
if you are happy with the comp they offer you, yes. I highly recommend stop assuming there's a fair mapping between level and years of experience, this is not a thing at FB or Google. If you join as L5 there's nothing stopping you from performing as L6 and get a promotion relatively quickly if you are actually at that level.
By your theory, level should be based on comp expectation, not based of level of expertise or area of domain. I would stay away from place if recruiters forced such thing.

TC? FB E5 should have MSFT L66-67 comp. Consider it carefully, it might be a very hard transition and you might want to return after 1yr.
Do not have TC yet. Under discussion. Can you elaborate why do you think it will be hard and I might want o come back to msft?
Take the top 10-20% of people in your level at MS, and spread that across the whole equivalent level at FB. Tell them that they own their own decisions about what to work on and how to do it, but they will be rewarded based on impact relative to peers across the company. Managers are coaches and don’t tell you what to do. The result is a pressure cooker. Your WLB will suffer compared to MS but you might be happier.
