I had 4 rounds of interviews onsite: 1. Behavioral : Ok. (10 minutes left after all soft skill questions and the guy asked me a Dynamic programming medium. Solved it and Coded well but then he asked me to prove it by dry running it but I couldn’t do that part) 2. Coding: Good 3. Coding: Not good. 4. Design: Great What would be the outcome?
Is it just a total of ~4h for fb on-site?
Yup
It’s possible I think
So, passing 2.5 out of 4 rounds at FB. That would be a "Try again next year"
I thinks quite possible for Yes. Behavioral asks coding when behavioral is good. Then 10-15 for possible coding. To get more data pint
My behavioral round went great after hearig the feedback and I didn't get a question that round
My design round was not great and other rounds were good but got reject
You mean your all rounds were good but still got rejected?
2 coding rounds: I was able to complete the code and run testcases 1 coding round: I finished coding but had no time to run the testcases Design round: I know I didn’t perform well as I had some brain freeze moments
If you were asked to prove correctness by dry running your code, it's usually a hint that you screwed up somewhere. The interviewer is hoping that you'll notice the bug as you dry run and fix it. It could go either way but I'm leaning towards reject.
I wrote exactly the same code on my computer after getting back from interview and it worked perfectly.
Did you test for all edge cases?
Lol no way you solved dp medium correctly in less than 10 min unless you've seen it. But from the sound of it, if you couldn't dry run it, I'm guessing you probably didn't get it correct
Did you get an offer?
Nope. Perfection is required. Apparently they only hire Gods and Goddesses.
Absolutely spot on
