My recruiter mentioned that post interview, there are 2 separate committees. Is this first just an interviewer roundup or something more? She also asked for FB references. I'm curious how much weight these are given if I don't know anyone there who can give me a strong reference? Eg I can find someone who might say "X seems smart/nice but I haven't worked with them closely", does that actually move the needle on an offer decision? I don't want to reach out to people if it won't have a huge impact and then deal with the potential awkwardness if I don't pass HC :|
Congratulations! You must have done relatively well to be at this stage. There is just one candidate review committee that makes the decision. We have some people look at the packet before it gets to them and eliminate packets that are not worth the committees time. References help if you were borderline on interviews. Having someone say: 'I've worked with them and they are awesome' would help. Neutral references won't make a difference. That being said, it shouldn't seem like you are hiding something so I would tell the recruiter "I worked with X, Y and Z but not closely enough for them to be able to give you a reference.". You don't have to ask them for a reference. The recruiter should do that.
I had an onsite recently as well. Recruiter says now my packet will go to the “hiring committee”. Could you please elaborate on this? Thanks
The hiring committee/candidate review reviews all packets and makes the final hire/no hire and leveling decision based on all the feedback received.
What was the outcome OP?
hey op..mind sharing the result?
