Are there any benefits to joining facebook on December over January? How does it relate to bonus and refresher grants in particular?

Another point to consider is the monthly average of FB stock price. The number of stocks you'll get on your initial grant is based on that.

If you start in January, will you get a smaller proration? Or, will you be ineligible for 2019 refreshers like at google?
You may get a cost of living adjustment if you start in December, but honestly, the extra few weeks pay will be more. <3 months means too new to review. If you need the money, start in December, if you don’t, better to enjoy the holidays and start in January.
