It's great.b
Facebook has suffered plenty of PR setbacks throughout its history. Employees stay happy though because the core business keeps growing.
Does it vary by team? How’s marketplace?
Morale variation within the company is probably always greater than morale variation between companies
Morals at FB?
Oh, morale. My bad
I don't understand such posts. If you are new to blind then you should realize that most of its users including myself are unhappy with their current company. Grass is always greener on the other side :) So you will most likely get replies from people saying it's bad, shit or whatever. I am pretty sure a company of that size will have both unhappy and happy employees. You are most likely to find unhappy ones here on blind.
People are happy because of crazy bonuses, stock awards, high base pay, and exceptional benefits. Very few actually care about the 'mission'. Most of them clock in the hours, finish the tickets, and drive home. Even to this day, people try to reach out to other companies of all sizes asking them to arrange an interview as they are going through the Facebook process because at the end of the day when other companies offer similar pay, the satisfaction of working at those places over facebook is higher. No longer there is a need to participate in Mark's 'mission to connect people' when you go home and know that the platform is being used across the world in political campaigns to hurt hundreds of millions of people with few benefiting from it.
Or help. Kind of like meds vs drugs. Definition pivots on benefit vs abuse.
Any platform that lets people communicate with each other is open to the same criticism. Increasing human interaction has pros and cons, and it's hard to calculate the benefit of a billion people keeping in touch with their old friends a little more often. But if you were serious about this, you'd at least try to weigh the positive and negative effects of *all* political campaigning on the platform, not only the campaigns you don't like. People blame FB for Trump, but they forget about Obama... commentators were calling it "the Facebook election" in 2008.

For that $$$ I don’t give a shit about the morale.
