Bought fb today. Increased sales by 41.9%. Slowed growth is still growth. It is different from decrease in sales which most news sources either can't distinguish, or it is not sensational enough to publish accurately. They have also increased investment in building up security which will end up with a better product. There are areas like in Europe that have decreased in Daily Active Users. News reactions are generally overreactions, so decided to buy.
FB has changed its strategy. It no longer tries to squeeze out as much “time spent” from its users as possible. Instead they’ll start focusing on other metrics like “quality time spent” and “community”. In the short run this will mean decreased user growth and decreased revenue. In the long run, I strongly believe this will save FB.
