which one would you go to for ML roles and why? Currently have offers from them for L5 but waiting on numbers. tc: 310k
Sex?
No wonder you are rotting at Cornerstone.
Yeah I know
Haven't worked for Pinterest, but I love working for Facebook. There is really strong ML engineering here. Having coworkers who *make PyTorch* or one of the frickin *authors of grep* (who now does ML stuff) has been amazing.
I am thinking more in terms of my personal growth and development. I don't think having pytorch development at fb would matter to me.
Sorry if unclear, I meant to say that you have world-class ML engineers at FB working on the cutting-edge ML problems. That is directly related to personal growth and development (I figure you mean ML career growth/development since you highlighted that?), since expert coworkers push you to be better and can teach you so much.
Moved from LI to PINS, and I’d like to call out the amount of engr opportunities we have here, given the company with potential in growth and expanding of its business. L5 / L6 is at a level of project lead / team tech lead, and pins is a perfect place to gain that experience as there are constantly new initiatives coming out, from ML platform’s perspective you work on spark, tensorflow, pytorch, xgboost, Kubernetes. FB is as a grown up as LinkedIn and it’s hard for you to touch things with such scope at L5
What is highest l5 offer I can expect from Pinterest? Thanks for your comment, it is really helpful.
I joined before we go public so things can change, especially rsu can be lower. But given we just ended out lockup period, there is a drop in price now so it’s quite a deal to join at this moment. Pins matches Fb, and whatever you see on levels.fyi at at extremely high end and I doubt simply FB offer won’t be enough to argue to that level
Much better wlb in Pinterest
I know good ppl at pins. I’ve also heard that ads and shopping there suffer from never-ending political fights.
But they are the highest priority and money making orgs for them. I guess some politics is present everywhere. Any other feedback which you heard? Is it a good place to learn and grow?
stay on linkedin?
Don't want to do that.
