Facebook or Uber: which one has the most lenient wfh/remote culture?

Since most engineers are actually more productive when wfh during no meeting days, where is it easier to wfh ~2 or more times a week without any issues? Where is it easier to take meetings from home? 9YOE, 275k TC.

I am interviewing with both companies atm, awaiting offer/rejection. I have no insight into wlb since it's wrong to ask about it as a candidate. I did however notice that the job scope and responsibilities are much smaller at Facebook. So small it feels like interviewing for a part time job. My guess is that Facebook is more pro-life while Uber is more pro-work. This may be entirely wrong if one of them requires "visibility" i.e. working late just to be seen working late.

wait, why is it not appropriate to ask about WLB as a candidate? I asked every interviewer about WLB when interviewing at Google, Amazon and FB.

It makes you look like someone who has a life

I was scared about joining uber because I worried it would have bad wlb. I didn't have to be. Solid 9-5 as long as you focus on your work and deliver shit on time. Internal transfer is easy (no min. tenure at a team) too, which helps you navigate around if you are stuck with a team that forces u to do a lot of work

Uber is 20k people but only 5k in HQ. Even though most of engg is in HQ, it still has a natural distributed feel. Also HQ is actually 4 sites in bay area. AND offices are so full it's impossible to get a room so you zoom anyway. Lastly it's growing so fast that you have a more autonomy. We may cash but remote work definitely on top.

i am curious how Uber compares to Salesforce, are they in same tier in term of engineering and TC?

I know both very well. Salesforce is not in same universe as Uber for engg... but also much easier wlb. Not sure about TC
