Can someone from fb chime in on the interview process and the pros and cons of this program? I’ve heard how badly companies like Google and Apple treat their contractors, but when I look up this one it seems mostly positive and has a decent chance of conversion to FTE.
I recently got an offer for rEng program at facebook. Based on my research and talking to the almunis, it sounds like a great program. You get the same benefits as FTE (minus RSU). But you get to work with 2 teams throughout the year.
Yup it seems like a very fair process to prove yourself. Mind if I ask what the interview process was like?
I actually interviewed for regular role, but instead of reject, I was offered this role. My system design round and one coding round was average. I am not a CS major and also do not have strong system design experience in my career so far. They still saw the potential in me I guess and hence this offer. The interview process is same for rEng. So don’t treat it as any different process and prepare to the fullest. (1 career/conding, 2 coding, 1 sys design round).

We have rotation programs too, and most residents end up FTE.
Very true mb, but the google one is only for new grads.
