I am preparing for an on-site interview with Facebook and they sent my interview confirmation email to my @microsoft.com email address. It is not listed on my resume, my LinkedIn, or any of my previous correspondence with them. I found it to be extremely surprising and unprofessional Anyone else had something like this happen to them before?
Is it listed in the metadata of your docx resume?
It might be but I only post the PDF version, never the docx... Which probably is embedded in the PDF output. Fuck
Even so, how scummy is it to conduct ALL correspondence on one address and then switch to another because you found it buried somewhere
Lol. Don’t bother with that. Just crack the onsite and increase your TC. Btw, current TC?
Wow, how the fuck can this happen?
Because Facebook is a rotten company and has no limits to the degree to which they will violate your privacy.
U may have volunteered or accepted an invite to your alias while logged in at work. Check LI settings for primary/alternative email addresses.
Only my personal address is listed on LinkedIn
Is it listed on your facebook account at all? Their application ties into your logged in account when you apply. Alternatively it may have been the recruiters way of verifying you are currently working at msft.
Nope, not on Facebook at all
I don’t think that’s a standard practice. Make sure your primary secondary LinkedIn profile got your company email. It’s hard to say that they deliberately did this act.
It's extremely weird because I have email correspondence with the very same recruiter on my personal email. None of them contain my corporate email. It's just creepy
Assholes
highly doubt it was deliberate, why tf would fb bother doing that
FB has shitty DNA of zuck, they don't believe in distinction private and public
I had something similar too. I was contacted by a recruiter on a gmail account and we had conversation via that email. When she sent the schedule for a phone interview it was sent to one of my other email address, Hotmail, that has no association with Facebook whatsoever. I still don’t know how they figured thats my email, and why they didn’t sent to my gmail which has always been my primary contact.

Go woke, go broke: Google fires 28 employees involved in pro-Hamas protest
There was a thread on cscareerquestions where a dude interviewed for a position at a competitor. He failed, and the competing company also contacted his original employer and said that he interviewed with them. Needless to say the dude’s manager made his life hell until he quit voluntarily. Seems like it was a deliberate move though.
